Ha sido descrito como muy autodidacta y extensamente leído en ciencias y matemáticas. También ha estudiado filosofía y neurociencia. Assange dice que WikiLeaks ha publicado más documentos clasificados que toda la prensa mundial junta.

Eso no lo digo para demostrar nuestro éxito, más bien, muestra el alarmante estado del resto de los medios de comunicación. ¿Cómo es que un equipo de cinco personas ha llegado a mostrarle al público la información más reprimida, a ese nivel, que el resto de la prensa mundial junta? Es vergonzoso.

El controvertido sitio web WikiLeaks recoge y publica documentos y vídeos clasificados como altamente confidenciales.
